Zen Massage Oil

Zen Massage Oil runs on eleven ingredients, four of them carrier oils and five of them essential oils. Interesting fact: the juniper in it is not distilled from a berry, because juniper does not make berries. What looks like one is a galbulus, a seed cone whose scales stay fleshy and fuse together around the seeds instead of drying out and opening like a pine cone, and it takes about 18 months on the branch to ripen from green to purple-black. Only the ripe cones go to distillation. Around it sit vetiver, green tea, tangerine and lavender, so the aroma opens with citrus, turns resinous and green in the middle, and settles dry. The carrier base is what makes this one usable on any protocol: safflower runs light and fast, avocado gives body, almond and grape seed sit between them. Main benefits:

How the product works: Safflower seed oil is one of the highest-linoleic oils in cosmetic use, which is why it feels light and absorbs quickly. Avocado oil sits at the opposite end, with an unsaponifiable fraction reported as high as 12 percent against 0.6 to 3 percent for olive oil, and that fraction is what gives the blend body under sustained pressure. Sweet almond and grape seed fill the middle. On the aromatic side the tangerine is a cold-pressed top note that arrives first, juniper and green tea hold the middle, and vetiver is the last thing left on the skin. How to use:

1. Application: 15 ml. This blend is the least fussy in the range on dose and on temperature; it works cold or warmed.
2. Massage: Any protocol. The four-oil base holds through fast work and slow work equally, which is why it belongs in the room you use most.
3. Tip: Keep it as your default and reserve the single-aromatic oils for treatments a client has booked by name. It costs less to stock one workhorse well than five specialists badly.
