Rio Massage Oil, 500 ml

For the same protocols as Zen, when you want the aroma to sit deeper and stay longer on skin and linen.

500 ml covers 25 to 50 full-body treatments at 10 to 20 ml per session. At €18.00 and a 15 ml application that is €0.54 per treatment.

📜 Twelve ingredients, the longest label of the sixteen oils on this site.

🌿 It is Zen plus one thing. The declared difference between the two formulas is angelica essential oil, and nothing else.

🌱 Angelica is a root note. In perfumery it works at fractions of a percent as a fixative, holding the lighter oils on the skin for longer.

🍂 Two root oils in one blend, angelica and vetiver, which is what pushes the aroma down and makes it read damp and earthy under the citrus.

☀️ Treat as phototoxic until confirmed. Angelica root oil is IFRA-restricted for phototoxicity. Keep treated skin out of sun and sunbeds for at least 12 hours.

🏭 Made by Kozmetika Hristina to one batch formula. The bottle you reorder matches the one you opened.

Twelve ingredients, the longest declared list in this range. The formula is identical to Zen with one addition: angelica essential oil. The carrier base is sweet almond, grape seed, safflower and avocado oils, followed by aloe vera and seaweed extracts. Six essential oils close the list: vetiver, angelica, green tea, tangerine, juniper and lavender. Note on the angelica: the declaration does not state the plant part. Angelica root oil is restricted by IFRA for phototoxicity in leave-on body products, and until the plant part and concentration are confirmed on the batch documentation this blend should be treated as phototoxic. Contains almond oil, a tree nut.

INCI/Ingredients: Prunus Dulcis Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Safflower Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Aloe Vera Extract, Seaweed Extract, Vetiver Essential Oil, Angelica Essential Oil, Green Tea Essential Oil, Tangerine Essential Oil, Juniper Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil.

Buy Rio and Zen as a pair, not as alternatives. The carrier base is the same four oils, so the slip, the dose and the absorption are identical and a therapist switching between them changes nothing about technique. What changes is the angelica. It is a heavy, slow-evaporating material used in perfumery as a fixative, which means it holds the lighter tangerine, green tea and lavender in place instead of letting them go, and alongside vetiver it puts a damp, earthy, faintly peppery floor under the whole blend. The practical result is a scent that is still working at minute seventy and still on the client an hour after they leave. One constraint decides where it goes on your schedule: angelica root oil is IFRA-restricted for phototoxicity, so this is the evening bottle and Zen is the daytime one.

Evening and indoor bookings. Therapists who found Zen's aroma too light and want the same base with more depth and a longer hold. Practices running Zen and Rio as a daytime and evening pair. Not for a client heading into direct sunlight or onto a sunbed within 12 hours: treat this blend as phototoxic until the angelica plant part and concentration are confirmed.

Rio Massage Oil

Rio Massage Oil is Zen with one ingredient added, and it is worth saying that plainly because anyone can put the two labels side by side. The added ingredient is angelica essential oil, and it changes the aroma rather than the treatment. Interesting fact: angelica is used in perfumery at fractions of a percent, not because it is weak but because it is a fixative. Its job is to slow down the lighter materials around it, so a composition with angelica in it holds on skin and on linen for longer than the same composition without. Here it sits alongside vetiver, which is also a root oil, and the two together push the whole blend downwards: the cold-pressed tangerine still opens it, but underneath there is a damp, earthy, faintly peppery depth that Zen does not have. Twelve ingredients, the longest label in this range. Main benefits:

  • The longest ingredient list of the sixteen, with five carrier and extract components and six aromatics.
  • Two root oils, angelica and vetiver, which is what gives the base its damp, earthy character.
  • Holds on skin and linen longer than the same formula without angelica.
  • The same four-oil carrier base as Zen, so the slip behaves identically.

How the product works: The carrier side is unchanged from Zen: safflower runs light and absorbs quickly, avocado carries a comparatively large unsaponifiable fraction and gives body, with sweet almond and grape seed between them. The difference is entirely in the aroma. Angelica is a heavy, low-volatility material, so it evaporates slowly and holds the lighter tangerine, green tea and lavender components in place around it. That is what a fixative does, and it is why the same session smells stronger at minute seventy than it would with Zen. How to use:

  1. Application: 15 ml. Dose it as you would Zen; the carrier base is identical.
  2. Massage: Any protocol, though the longer ones show more of what the angelica is doing.
  3. Tip: Ask the client where they are going afterwards. If the answer is a beach, a terrace or a sunbed, use Zen instead and keep this one for evening bookings.

Suitable for: Evening and indoor bookings, therapists who found Zen's aroma too light, and practices that want two related oils on the shelf where one is the daytime version and the other the evening one.

Sun caution: Contains angelica essential oil. Angelica root oil is restricted by IFRA for phototoxicity in leave-on body products. Until the plant part and concentration are confirmed on the batch documentation, treat this blend as phototoxic: keep treated skin out of direct sunlight and off sunbeds for at least 12 hours after the session. If you need a sun-safe alternative with the same base, use Zen, which is this formula without the angelica.

Results with regular use:

  • A deeper version of a scent your clients already know from Zen.
  • An aroma that stays on the client after they leave.
  • Even slip across both short and long protocols on one application.
  • A clear pairing on your menu: Zen for daytime, Rio for evening.

Yes. The 500ml format is designed specifically for professional volume use. The formula is consistent batch to batch, making it reliable for daily use across multiple clients.

On average 10 to 20ml per full-body session, depending on technique and pressure. The pump format helps control dosage and reduces waste.

Yes. The formula contains no silicones, parabens or artificial colorants. Allantoin and beeswax make it gentle enough for repeated use. Always perform a patch test for clients with known skin sensitivities.

We recommend using it on the body only. For facial treatments, a dedicated facial oil is more appropriate.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the pump closed between uses. Shelf life is indicated on the packaging.
